RideComposer 1.1.2: during class, nothing on screen should move
Version 1.1.2 is out: a fully frozen Coach Mode display during class, more reliable transitions, and a sturdier analysis on long DJ mixes.
RideComposer 1.1.2 is out. It was born from a simple rule, written while preparing our own classes: a coach distracted by something suddenly shifting on screen loses the thread of the session — and the connection with the room. So we hunted down everything that could move without a reason, and removed it.
A fully frozen Coach Mode
The mix point — the "⇄ MIX" line showing where the next track takes over — could previously be recalculated quietly during playback and shift before your eyes. That's over: everything you validate in the Track Editor is now measured, saved with your ride, and restored identically every time you open it. What you see before class is exactly what you'll see during it.
The same treatment went to the small tell-tale details: the time counters no longer nudge the top bar as digits change, the mix line stays visible from the first second of a track to the last, and the final track of a ride no longer shows a mix zone at all — there's nothing to mix into after it.
Transitions that hand over at the right moment
We also consolidated the hand-off mechanics: the outgoing fade starts exactly on the mix point, at full volume, while the next track enters at its minimum and rises in mirror. The outgoing track passes the baton while it's still alive — never after it has died down. And if you drag a mix point by hand, the volume curves now follow it automatically, preserving every adjustment you've made.
An analysis that goes the distance
For those with large libraries: long mixes (full one-hour classes, DJ compilations) no longer slow down the analysis of everything else — they're detected by their real duration and processed separately, one at a time. And your computer will no longer go to sleep in the middle of an overnight scan.
The app now tells you itself
If you're on 1.1.1, a banner will offer you this update the next time you launch — it's the first time this mechanism goes live, and it will serve every release from now on. Otherwise, the installer is where it always is: ridecomposer.com.
Enjoy your next class — and if anything still moves on screen while you teach, tell us: that's exactly the kind of feedback this version was built on.
